BEST COMEDY
KEN TUCKER: I know I should be agitating for 30 Rock and The Office like a good TV critic, but I swear, I've laughed just as much at The New Adventures of Old Christine as any other sitcom: It deserves a nomination! You're with me on this one, yes?
GILLIAN FLYNN: Old Christine has quietly become one of the best comedies on TV, and let me use this moment to tout every one of the supporting cast members, especially Hamish Linklater as Julia Louis-Dreyfus' overly attached brother. I also say ABC's stunning, sweet-hearted Pushing Daisies deserves a bouquet.
KEN: I'm so glad you share my Christine advocacy. I am highly tempted to suggest we agitate for The Hills as best comedy I know I laugh a lot watching it but more seriously about comedy: Would you ever consider imploring the Emmy folks to take King of the Hill out of the animation ghetto and put it among the living? It's still a consistently shrewd, wise comedy.
GILLIAN: Do it, bust it out, I'm in total agreement it's one of those shows that are so unflashily, solidly good that we take them for granted. And the characters are more real than any of those Hills creatures any day.
