WHY IT DOESN'T WORK: Have you seen the ending? Not to be all spoilery, but you'd think that any civilization that conquered interstellar space flight would have some sensors on their ship, something that could take readings of the planet they had put on their To-Invade list, right? And they might've turned the bloody thing on...to see that Earth was covered in the very substance that's lethal to them.
