ALIEN VS. PREDATOR (2004)
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: An expedition funded by a billionaire industrialist (Lance Henriksen) discovers that an ancient pyramid buried beneath the Antarctic ice is a ceremonial crucible, where Predators would hunt Aliens as a rite of passage.
WHY IT DOESN'T WORK: After four Alien movies and two Predator flicks, and fan salivation for a meeting of the claws at a zenith, we got this? I like Sanaa Lathan as much as the next guy, and am awfully fond of Earth, but why wasn't this cage match set someplace cooler than Antarctica…like, outer space?
