SAHARA (2005)
Okay, he's no Indiana Jones. Still, there's plenty of adventurous shoot-'em-up fun to be had, thanks to McConaughey's devil-may-care gusto as globetrotting treasure hunter (sorry, naval historian) Dirk Pitt. He puts his quest for a legendary ironclad Civil War-ship on hold to help a beautiful World Health Organization doctor (Penélope Cruz) save the world from a deadly water-borne plague.
Texas drawl? Yes. Great line: ''I don't speak English.... I only know how to say 'I don't speak English' in English.''
