DAZED AND CONFUSED (1993)
In director Richard Linklater's paean to the ideological innocence of youth, set around a group of buds the day before summer break in 1976, McConaughey and his moustache are on screen for less than 10 minutes. But in his first major movie role, he steals the show as David Wooderson, a carefree city worker in a small Texas town who graduated years ago but still hangs out with high school kids.
Texas drawl? Yes. Great line: ''That's what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.''
