37. PRETTY WOMAN (1990)
It was a bit of a throwback — a hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold fairy tale — even when it first came out. Yet it announced the arrival of a post-feminist princess culture, complete with Richard Gere playing an early incarnation of Mr. Big. More than anything, it was the moment we all fell in love with Julia Roberts, and we've never fallen out.
