THE NAKED GUN: FROM THE FILES OF POLICE SQUAD! (1988)
The '80s TV comedy Police Squad!, from the folks behind the movie Airplane!, was packed with sight gags and raunchy word play. So was this film — only it was a hit. (The show was canceled after six episodes.) You'd have to be blind not to laugh at Leslie Nielsen's umpire bit, and heartless not to understand why the following quote, from Nielsen's straight-faced Lieut. Frank Drebin to Priscilla Presley's Jane Spencer, made EW's list of the most romantic movie lines ever: ''…Maybe the problems of two people don't amount to a hill of beans, but this is our hill, and these are our beans.''
WHAT EW SAID: ''Leslie Nielsen proves he possesses the deadliest deadpan in the business.''
