Sure, the spouse swapping on season 1 of CBS' Swingtown (now available on DVD) created watercooler buzz, but it's the retro fashion that really had us intrigued. Here, costume designer Jill Ohanneson, who was responsible for creating the show's chic '70s looks, gives the inside scoop on the wardrobe department.
To create the most authentic style for the series' summer 1976 setting, Ohanneson, who earned two Emmy nominations for her work on Six Feet Under, immersed herself in pop culture from the decade, including movies (Klute, Saturday Night Fever, and Shampoo), magazines (old Vogues and Harpers' Bazaars), catalogs (Sears and Montgomery Ward), and events (the feminist movement).
