''I've said it before about David Cronenberg, but it's really true about him: He is not a tourist. David knows the milieu that he wants to investigate as a filmmaker. He has this underworld that he always wants to go to, that he wants to live in creatively, and I would always be happy to be there and help David find that world again. I love David Cronenberg. [Laughs] I campaigned to work with him. I had been hounding David for maybe three years. My agent would call him regularly, like every six months, and say, 'Just to remind you, Holly Hunter really wants to work with you. Just to let you know.' Then Crash came up, and I love novelist J.G. Ballard's writing, and I was familiar with it. So, yeah, the experience did not let me down.''
