The game might as well be called ''Geek Heaven.'' Players can invent their
own characters — each replete with superpowers, costume, and a secret
identity — and then leap (or fly or jet-pack) into a vast online landscape
filled with other players and roughly 150 autonomous heroes, villains,
and sidekicks from the DC Comics canon. ''So when you run into Batman and
he's an ally, great,'' explains creative director Chris Cao. ''If he's an
enemy, uh-oh.''
