''After Rain Man, Ridley Scott offered me Black Rain and Bruce Beresford offered me Driving Miss Daisy. I thought if I do these two, and I literally did them in the same month, I don't think people will be able to typecast me. And the character was so similar to my mother! Whenever I ran out of things to write, I just phoned my mother and picked an argument with her.''
