THELMA & LOUISE (1991)
''There was this guitarist named Pete Haycock. When I was a teenager, I just loved his playing. I would go through all his records and basically copy all his riffs. Nobody had really heard of him. I said to Ridley Scott, 'I'd love to use this guy.' I phoned Pete up, and he said, 'You want me to work on the whole movie?' I said, 'Yeah, how much will that cost?' He said $250. I told Ridley that he wants to do it for $250, and Ridley said, 'We can't do that! We have to pay him properly.' It's probably the only time in Hollywood history where we negotiated somebody up.''
