Director Alan Cohn hadn't seen Saved by the Bell and fought to cast the alum in the college comedy about two freshmen (Gosselaar and Tom Everett Scott) who decide to save their GPAs by finding a suicidal roommate whose death will earn them grief-stricken A's. ''That was so much fun,'' Gosselaar says. ''The cast on that was great — we had Poppy Montgomery and Alyson Hannigan. We just had three months of a great time.''
