BILL MAHER
LARRY CHARLES SAYS: ''To me, with the death of George Carlin, Bill Maher assumed the mantle of America's most subversive standup. Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are a little safer. Bill can't get the guests they get, because he doesn't pull his punches. He's willing to accept it when people don't like him and to alienate his fan base to maintain his honesty. He often tells the people who love him the most what they least want to hear. Even if you disagree with him, you have to respect that about him.''
