10. CSI ''For Warrick,'' Oct. 9 (CBS)
The season 9 opener had ''Caution! Very Special Episode!'' stamped all over it: Not only did it center around the death of a beloved character (Gary Dourdan's Warrick Brown) but it also featured a reunion (the return of Jorja Fox), a traitor, and a this-time-it's-personal murder hunt. But with everyone involvedparticularly William Petersendoing their best work, the result was a wrenching but restrained premiere, and a reminder that the best parts of this show aren't in the lab.
