Today, he's simply known as the King. But when a young Mississippi-born Elvis Aron Presley first came on the scene, his ability to incite teenage emotions was actually considered so dangerous that the FBI kept a file on him; at his appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1956, he was deliberately filmed from the waist up in order to avoid sending viewers into a frenzy at the sight of his gyrating hips (no doubt, it failed).
