September 19, 1991: Jackson appears on The Simpsons
In the episode Stark Raving Dad, the show's third-season premiere, Jackson voices the role of a mental-institution resident who delusionally believes he's a certain one-glove-wearing musical megastar. ''It was the most nerve-racking table read I've ever been to,'' recalls executive producer Al Jean, who co-wrote the episode. ''Part of me was preparing for Michael to go, 'This is terrible!' But it went really well. And he had a good sense of humor about himself. He's not a professional comedian, but he got big laughs.''
