CENTRAL PARK WEST
1995-1996, CBS, 21 episodes aired
Created by Beverly Hills, 90210's Darren Star, Central Park West was envisioned as a nighttime soap to bring some of those young, Melrose Place-esque viewers to the older-skewing CBS. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time. Originally featuring a cast of pretty young things, including Mariel Hemingway and Madchen Amick, the show tanked in the ratings and was completely overhauled with a new, more mature cast (Raquel Welch, Gerald McRaney). Unfortunately, viewers still didn't feel like visiting CPW and the show was evicted after only 21 episodes. Tim Stack
