Still in his athletic prime, Brown gave up football while filming The Dirty Dozen (1967), after the Cleveland Browns' owner gave him an ultimatum. So Browns fans had to have mixed feelings when they saw that Brown saved his most incredible run for the movies. ''I cried at the end of The Dirty Dozen,'' sobbed Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle.
