This acid-tipped satire of modern Hollywood ego and bloat revels in I-can't-believe-they're-doing-this caricatures, but we'll single out just three: Director Ben Stiller's pumped-up dunderhead action star; Tom Cruise's bald, fat, foul-mouthed Hollywood exec; and Robert Downey Jr.'s high-wire, Oscar-nominated performance as a pretentious actor so committed to his craft that he has his skin dyed to play an African-American soldier. —Adam B.
