The Bachelor (season 16)
Finale aired March 12, 2012
Bachelor: Ben Flajnik
Potential brides: Courtney Robertson and Lindzi Cox

Kristen Baldwin wrote:
On Courtney: ''After some tentative hello hugs, [Ben's mother] breaks the ice by asking Courtney if people often pre-judge her once they hear she's a model. 'Yeah, I think some of the girls are a little judgey of me,' Courtney squeaks. 'Some girls wouldn't even look at me or talk to me, and I was like, Why am I trying so hard? So I just kind of gave up.' Damn, girl, you haven't even taken your coat off! Maybe wait a few minutes before you eviscerate the other 'ladies' with your razor-sharp excuses!''
On Lindzi: ''But rather than — to use classic reality TV parlance — throwing her rival under the bus, Lindzi pauses, and then offers a very measured response. 'Courtney... she's very different than myself. I'm more of a people person... She was very shut off. In that situation why not try to make friends?' Julia has heard enough. 'At the end of the day, I want to protect my brother,' she says. "And I would be very, very happy if he picked you." (Uh-oh, Lindzi. I hate to tell you this, but it's never a good sign when a Bachelor's family shows a clear preference for one 'lady' over another. Team Bachelor loves nothing better than an early-in-the-episode fake-out.)''
The Choice: ''As Courtney's helicopter descends, she is feeling confident. 'I'm a good person,' she insists. 'And good things happen to good people.' Yeah, that's not actually true on either count, toots. Anyhow, let's do this thing, shall we? Like Lindzi, she hands her cape to Harrison before heading out to the Proposal Platform to hear Ben's speech. 'It always seems like whenever I'm with you I have these incredible moments,' gushes Ben. 'I want you to know that I think you're an incredible woman. But... I... I promised myself that I wouldn't get down on one knee again unless I was certain it was forever.' Hold up, is Ben about to exercise some judgment? 'And I want to tell you that you're my forever.' Oh, crap... never mind.''

What Happened Next: Flajnik and Robertson had already broken up amid cheating allegations and staged bridal shopping sprees by the time After the Final Rose aired, though they were seen together in May and claimed they were still engaged as of June.
