WHY EMMY GOT HIP TO HER When Parker, primarily a film actress, branched out to the stage, originating the lead role in the acclaimed ''Proof,'' she came away with the 2001 Tony for best actress. So it's no surprise that her stint on the small screen has been equally successful. As feminist leader Amy Gardner, Parker provided much of the spark for ''The West Wing'''s season, sparring constantly (and hilariously) with Bradley Whitford's Josh and making him a fun character again.
