Kissing a Fool (1998)

CHARACTER Jay Murphy, a Chicago writer whose best friend Max (David Schwimmer, right) urges him to try to seduce Max's fiancée, Sam (Mili Avatal), as a test of her fidelity

SLEAZE FACTOR Modest. Jay reluctantly agrees to the test but realizes he's in love with Sam. Everyone feels betrayed, and this supposed comedy turns ugly and glum fast.
