Hulking Figure
What's a guy look like after 41 years of shape shifting? Check out the Hulk's transformation from comic books to his June 20 movie

Comic book debut, 1962
TRUE COLORS Yep, he's gray. The Hulk first popped up in this 1962 debut issue -- he was the second superhero creation of writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. ''We would use the concept of Frankenstein and update it,'' Lee wrote in ''The Origins of Marvel Comics.'' In the issue (which includes an amusingly dated subplot about a Russian spy named Igor), nuclear scientist Dr. Bruce Banner is caught in a ''Gamma bomb'' explosion when he rescues a teenager who had stumbled into a test area. Banner somehow survives, but finds that he's now cursed to turn into a big, gray dude when the sun goes down. Next Item in this Gallery
