Posey, in her first starring role, plays a social butterfly who finds unexpected reserves of maturity and responsibility when she goes to work at the New York Public Library. (She also meets hunky falafel vendor Omar Townsend, right.) If the cult hit didn't quite make her a star, it did (along with the half-dozen other independent movies she made in 1995) make her the undisputed queen of the indies. (Read the review)
