That was the question facing director Angela Robinson as she brought the Love Bug back to life for this Disney update in which the fabled VW helps Lindsay Lohan and family (including Michael Keaton and Breckin Meyer) race to NASCAR glory. ''I wanted to try to stick as closely as possible to the lo-fi Herbie,'' says Robinson of her part-metal, part-pixel star. ''I personally prefer Chewbacca instead of an entirely CG character.''
