HAUSER
The Cave: Cos Aelenei
With The Cave, horror hits a new low. Not in the pejorative sense of the word we speak of spelunking, people. Cole Hauser leads a group of explorers into a mysterious network of caverns, where they encounter something...hungry. Or perhaps just morally ambiguous, given the film's tagline is ''Beneath heaven lies hell. Beneath hell lies...The Cave.'' First-time director Bruce Hunt built his massive labyrinth on a Romanian soundstage and shot exteriors in Mexico. The dark, dank, complicated shooting experience was...totally fun? ''It was like Survivor,'' says Hunt. ''At a certain point, you just go, 'I want off the island.'''
