DENCH AND BLANCHETT
Notes On a Scandal: Clive Coote
Cate Blanchett plays Sheba Hart, an art teacher who enters into an illicit affair with one of her teenage students; Judi Dench stars as a nosy older teacher who knows Sheba's secret and becomes obsessed with the details. Based on Zoë Heller's 2003 novel, What Was She Thinking?: Notes on a Scandal (and adapted by Closer author Patrick Marber), this film not only gives us the terrific matchup of Dench and Blanchett but also gives the Dame a chance to reteam with Richard Eyre, who directed her to an Oscar nomination in Iris.
