Charlize Theron was no match for Harry Potter, as the boy wizard easily topped Aeon Flux to rule the box office for the third week in a row.

Still, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire took a major post-Thanksgiving hit, plummeting 63 percent to $20.5 million, according to studio estimates, bringing its total to $229.8 million. In a few days it'll surpass War of the Worlds ($234.3 million) to become the No. 2 film of 2005 (behind, of course, Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith).

Aeon Flux, meanwhile, premiered with a poor $13.1 million, despite being the only new wide release of the weekend. Its showing was even worse than another action film starring a female Oscar winner: Halle Berry's Catwoman, which opened with $16.7 million in October 2004. Beyond the cult following of the MTV animated series, no one apparently cared about this action heroine.

Walk the Line slipped to third place, grossing another $10 million for a total so far of $68.8 million, followed by the family comedy Yours, Mine & Ours with $8.4 million for the weekend. Rounding out the top five was Just Friends, which saw a relatively small drop of 39 percent to $5.6 million.
