Fox renews John Cena's American Grit for season 2

John Cena’s American Grit isn’t going anywhere. Fox has renewed the extreme competition series for a second season. 

Executive produced and hosted by Cena, season 1 featured 16 contestants who were pushed to their limits in a series of challenges that tested strength, willpower, and teamwork. The only way to leave the competition was to give up, and by the end of the series, one man and one woman were left standing. Clare “The Fisherman” Painter and Mark “The Lumberjack” Bouquin won the first season, which ended in June.

John Cena to host hardcore Fox reality competition series

Fox has ordered a military-themed competition series featuring WWE star John Cena and several notable real-life military heroes. 

The network has given a 10-episode order to American Grit, where “16 of the country’s toughest men and women will be split into four teams as they work together to face a variety of military-grade and survival-themed challenges.” Each team’s mentors will represent a branch of the U.S. Armed Forces (sort of like a military boot camp version of The X Factor).
