Shonda Rhimes blasts Bill O'Reilly's comments on Michelle Obama's speech: 'Try slavery, Bill'

Shonda Rhimes slammed Bill O’Reilly on Wednesday after the Fox News host made controversial comments about First Lady Michelle Obama’s widely-praised speech at the Democratic National Convention this week.

Rhimes called out O’Reilly for his remarks on the portion of the first lady’s speech that mentioned slavery and how far the nation has come.

“The idiocy never ceases to amaze me,” Rhimes said. “Try slavery, Bill. Let us know how good the food is while you wear chains.”

Shuffle Along, Or the Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed is a refreshing burst of energy, no caffeine necessary. With a cast that features Audra McDonald, Billy Porter, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Joshua Henry, and Brandon Victor Dixon (there are 16 Tony wins and noms between them), the jazzy musical boasts so much star power, at times it seems unfair to the rest of the Broadway circuit.

Billy Porter, Brian Stokes Mitchell join Audra McDonald in Shuffle Along on Broadway

Tony winners Billy Porter and Brian Stokes Mitchell are joining Audra McDonald in the upcoming Broadway production of Shuffle Along.

Brandon Victor Dixon and Joshua Henry, both Tony nominees, have also been cast in the production, which presents both a revival of the 1921 musical and the backstage story of the show’s history and influence.
