The Billy Joel Channel returning to Sirius XM

Billy Joel is currently in the midst of a months-long residency at Madison Square Garden, but that’s not the only place fans will be able to hear the iconic pop star’s music. Sirius XM announced Friday that their Billy Joel Channel will officially return for a limited run starting Jan. 15. The channel will feature songs from Joel’s entire career, including every live and studio album.

Billy Joel is a man of his word. After inviting Jimmy Fallon to join him on stage during an appearance on The Tonight Show earlier this week, Joel brought the late night host out at Madison Square Garden Thursday night.

The two New Yorkers dueted on “Sherry,” “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” and “Unchained Melody” at Joel’s January show during his residency at the iconcic New York City venue. Fallon also rocked a New York Rangers hockey jersey during “Start Me Up.”

Billy Joel wants to bring Jimmy Fallon on stage at MSG show

Taylor Swift isn’t the only one who can bring friends onstage at concerts.

When Billy Joel came on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss his current Madison Square Garden residency, he suggested bringing host Jimmy Fallon on stage at his Thursday show (much to Questlove’s envy).

“You coming? So we’ll do something on stage,” Joel said.

The best part of Wednesday’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon didn’t even occur on the show. While shooting promos for the broadcast, guest Billy Joel started an unrehearsed doo-wop performance of his hit song “For the Longest Time” with help from host Jimmy Fallon, fellow guest J.K. Simmons, and Joel’s band.

It was Simmons who suggested the song as the group milled about waiting to record the show’s teasers. After that it was off to the races, with the trio of stars harmonizing like pros.
