Three more naughty children of classic villains are emerging from the vault for Disney’s upcoming sequel to the smash hit original Disney Channel movie, Descendants.
Descendants 2 once again picks up on the adventures of the progeny of Disney’s infamous villains (Maleficent’s daughter Mal, the Evil Queen’s daughter Evie, Cruella de Vil’s son Carlos, and Jafar’s son Jay) and their attempts to integrate into the idyllic, hero-infested kingdom of Auradon.
No one’s quick as Gaston, no one’s slick as Gaston, no one can live up to the impossibly unrealistic standards set by a father like Gaston.
EW has learned exclusively the son of Beauty and the Beast’s infamous meathead is headed to Descendants 2: Newcomer Dylan Playfair will play Gaston’s son, Gil, in the sequel to Disney Channel’s massively popular original movie, Descendants.
If the logo didn’t lend enough of a hint about which new villain would be joining the nefarious gang in Disney’s Descendants 2, the new teaser confirms any fishy suspicion.
Looks like the Descendants are heading under the sea!
On Friday, Disney Channel annouced a sequel to last year’s hit movie-musical Descendants, which told the story of the next generation of Disney supervillains. On board for the new tale is China Anne McClain (ANT Farm) as Uma, the daughter of sea-witch Ursula from The Little Mermaid.
Disney Channel star, recording artist, and resident daughter-of-Maleficent (at least, on the network’s smash original movie Descendants) Dove Cameron will release a new music video cover of Christina Aguilera’s hit 1999 song “Genie in a Bottle,” set to premiere on Friday during a new episode of Stuck in the Middle.
The love for Disney Channel’s Descendants can’t stop rising.
Disney has given the green light to a sequel to this summer’s Disney Channel Original Movie Descendants, which follows the young offspring of famous vault villains like Maleficent, Jafar, and Cruella de Vil as they enter a boarding school attended by the “good” kids — those teens descended from Belle, Sleeping Beauty, et al.
Kenny Ortega’s Disney Channel movie Descendants revisits some of the studio’s most notorious villains — and introduces their born-to-be-bad kids as they navigate the wicked world of high school. Ahead of its July 31 premiere, the 65-year-old director and choreographer recalls the moments that shaped his career, from parties in the gym to dancing with Gene Kelly.
Once upon a time, Kenny Ortega directed a Disney Channel Original Movie that became an unstoppable franchise named High School Musical.
The Wildcats are back together.
Several members of the High School Musical cast reunited Saturday at the premiere of series director Kenny Ortega’s new Disney Channel original movie, Descendants.
Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens weren’t on hand for the event, but Corbin Bleu (Chad Danforth), Monique Coleman (Taylor McKessie), Ashley Tisdale (Sharpay Evans), Lucas Grabeel (Ryan Evans), and Olesya Rulin (Kelsi Nielsen) all came out to support Ortega and posed for photos together on the red carpet.
Much like Wicked and Maleficent, Disney Channel’s new movie musical focuses not on the do-gooders but the villains. Or, more specifically, their offspring: Mal (Dove Cameron), daughter of Maleficent (an over-the-top Kristin Chenoweth), and Evie (Sofia Carson), daughter of Evil Queen, are the stars here, along with the sons of Jafar and Cruella de Vil. As an act of charity, the bad kids are invited to attend a squeaky-clean prep school where the children of Disney heroes happen to be students. But plot isn’t really the point.
