Fans of the DNCE’s inescapable first single “Cake By the Ocean” will be pleased to hear their latest, “Body Moves,” continues to expand on their funky dance-worthy sound, combining the band’s self-described “quirky” lyrics with groovy hooks.
DNCE won their first ever VMA Award Sunday when they took home the Moonman for Best New Artist.
“First and foremost, thank you so much to the fans all across the world” frontman Joe Jonas said accepting accepting their statue. “We’ve been doing this for over 10 years, individually, and it just proves that you continue to evolve as an artist.”
EW caught up with Joe Jonas’ dance pop band DNCE after their performance on TODAY Friday morning, where band members Jonas, Jack Lawless, Cole Whittle, and JinJoo Lee spoke about their upcoming album, crazy “Cake By the Ocean” stories, and the VMAs.
After an initial release date slated for this summer, a few extra production sessions, and an extended tour, Joe Jonas and his dance-rock band – who will take the TODAY stage on Aug. 26 – are finally ready to drop their debut album after months on the road with Selena Gomez (and a cameo in Grease Live!).
In the newly released video for DNCE’s single “Toothbrush,” Joe Jonas splits his time between jamming on a rooftop in studded leather jacket with his bandmates and canoodling with model, Ashley Graham, in matching white tees as he convinces her that she’s welcome to leave a toothbrush at his place.
Earlier this week Jonas and the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model both took to Instagram to tease the steamy video’s debut with clips and pics.
Joe Jonas and his new bandmates are heading to Rydell High.
EW and PEOPLE can exclusively reveal that DNCE, the four-member pop-rock band fronted by 26-year-old Jonas, has joined the cast of Fox’s Grease: Live.
And the band will be playing … another band!
DNCE will double as Johnny Casino and the Gamblers, the questionably wholesome school dance band that takes the stage at Rydell’s high school hop. In the 1978 film, the rock-and-roll group Sha Na Na gives life to the Gamblers.
