Gore Verbinski has an atypical idea of a rehabilitation facility.

The teaser for A Cure for Wellness, the director’s latest thriller, shows off a dystopian lab manned by Jason Isaacs. The Harry Potter bad is barely seen and only heard, asking Dane DeHaan, “Are you ready, Mr. Lockhart? Then let us begin,” with an icy tone.

Jason Isaacs hints few will be left standing on Dig, addresses burning questions

[Warning: Episode 1 and 2 spoilers lie ahead!]

The first two episodes of USA’s Dig have seen the loss of several characters: Emma, Josh, Olaf, and Haim. And from what the show’s star, Jason Isaacs, has to say, it sounds like viewers shouldn’t expect the show’s lethal streak to let up anytime soon. 

“This story is ending [after episode 10], and you’ll see and know why,” Isaacs said. “Don’t get over-attached to any of the characters, because believe me, not many people are left standing at the end.”

Dig premiere react: Digging for answers--and interesting characters

Dig has lofty goals—it wants to be about faith, invoking a 2,000-year-old prophecy while setting some of its story in one of the most religiously historic regions in the world. And that’s no surprise, considering the show comes from the executive producers of Homeland, a show that has had similarly high aspirations about the world’s political state, and Heroes, which aimed (aims?) to tell an interweaving worldwide story of several different characters.

Dig’s DNA is apparent in its premiere, but unfortunately it comes saddled with the weakness of both its predecessors rather than their strengths.

There’s no such thing as a sure path to success in Hollywood, but the Academy Nicholl Fellowship in Screenwriting is as close as you’re going to get. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the five 2013 finalists just over two weeks ago, and already the honorees are fielding calls from agents, managers and studios eager to work with them. At least one has already signed with an agent and a manager.
