Lawsuit filed over Jenni Rivera plane crash death

The husband of Jenni Rivera is suing the owners of the plane that crashed in northern Mexico in December 2012, killing the Mexican-American pop star and six others.

City News Service says former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Esteban Loaiza filed the wrongful death case Friday in Los Angeles.

Among other things, the lawsuit claims that the pilots weren’t licensed to fly paying passengers.

Rivera sold more than 15 million records.

Official: Family has identified Jenni Rivera's remains

A state official says Jenni Rivera’s family has identified the remains of the Mexican-American music star killed in plane crash.

Nuevo Leon state security spokesman Jorge Domene said DNA tests are still pending. The singer’s remains will be given to the family once the tests are completed in coming days.

Officials said earlier that two state police officers had been arrested on suspicion of stealing unspecified items from the scene of the plane crash that killed Rivera.

Mexico tests DNA from Jenni Rivera plane crash

 Mexican authorities were performing DNA tests Tuesday on remains believed to belong to Mexican-American music superstar Jenni Rivera and six other people killed when her plane went down in northern Mexico.

Investigators said it would take days to piece together the wreckage of the plane carrying Rivera and find out why it went down.
