Jim Gaffigan Show ending after two seasons

The Jim Gaffigan Show has run its course.

TV Land’s sitcom inspired by the life and family of comedian Jim Gaffigan will not be returning for a third season, he and his wife, showrunner Jeannie Gaffigan, announced Monday on social media.

“It is hard to say goodbye to this highly personal passion project, which we have nurtured and poured our hearts into for over five years,” Jim Gaffigan said of the show, which concluded its second season Sunday evening.

Perhaps no rock band of the modern era is more widely reviled than Nickelback. As comedian Jim Gaffigan explained to Conan O’Brien on Wednesday night, that’s exactly why he recruited them for a cameo on his self-titled show.

“I don’t know anything about Nickelback, but I know my friends that are super cool despise Nickelback,” Gaffigan said. “Like they kidnapped the Lindbergh baby. They’re playing music. If you don’t like it, turn it off.”

  • The Sleeping Shepherd has cast a quartet of actors. Michael Pitt, Imogen Poots, Isabelle Huppert, and Willem Dafoe signed on for the film from writer-director Frank Hudec. Inspired by real-life art thief Stéphane Breitwieser, who admitted to stealing more than 200 works in the 1990s, The Sleeping Shepherd follows a failed painter (Pitt) who decides to steal art instead of paint it. He’s accompanied on his spree by a bored rich girl (Poots).
