Jimmy Buffett condemns North Carolina law, doesn't cancel shows

Jimmy Buffett added his voice Saturday to the growing number of musicians condemning North Carolina’s Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act — but stopped short of canceling shows in the state as some of his peers have.

In a note posted to his Margaritaville blog, Buffett compared North Carolina’s new law to previous “stupid” anti-marijuana laws that were based on “stupid assumptions.” Buffett continued, “Now another stupid law, based on stupid assumptions, has sprung up like kudzu in North Carolina.”

Boston Marathon benefit show lineup includes Aerosmith, New Kids on the Block

Aerosmith, James Taylor and Jimmy Buffett are among the scheduled performers for a Boston Marathon benefit concert on May 30.

The show, at the TD Garden, will benefit One Fund — the collection of donations that will be distributed to the survivors of the April 15 bombings and the families of those killed in the attack.
