Pearl Jam dedicates Aerosmith cover to Joe Perry at Fenway Park show

Pearl Jam’s concert at Fenway Park on Friday was, in part, a tribute to Boston. Frontman Eddie Vedder shouted “Boston strong!” before segueing into a cover of Aerosmith’s “Draw the Line,” after which he dedicated the song to Joe Perry. 

The Massachusetts-born Aerosmith guitar player collapsed backstage during a July performance with Hollywood Vampires, according to concertgoers. Perry rejoined his group a couple weeks later in California.

Joe Perry 'stable' after falling ill during concert

Aerosmith and Hollywood Vampires guitarist Joe Perry is in “stable” condition after being hospitalized in New York on Sunday night.

Perry was forced to leave the Hollywood Vampires concert at Coney Island in Brooklyn, New York after falling ill on stage. Video of Perry leaving the stage was posted on Instagram; he reportedly passed out backstage according to concert attendees.
