Penny Dreadful's Josh Hartnett says his chemistry with Eva Green 'made itself evident early'

If Josh Hartnett and Eva Green’s chemistry hadn’t been what it is, Penny Dreadful could be a very different show.

The push and pull between Hartnett’s tortured Ethan Chandler and Green’s equally tortured Vanessa Ives is so natural it almost feels unplanned — so when Hartnett stopped by Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105), we asked him if it was. And has Ethan (Josh Hartnett) finally embraced his werewolf side? He looks as comfortable with the blood dripping from his lips as he does in his dramatic reunion with Vanessa.
