Sons of Anarchy spinoff pilot is a go at FX

Rev up your hogs, SAMCRO fans: FX has some great news for you.

FX announced today that it will shoot a pilot for Mayans MC, the next chapter in the Sons of Anarchy saga that will be written by Kurt Sutter and his producing partner Elgin James.

Sutter, who created the immensely popular SOA for FX, will direct the pilot episode. Production is set to begin in March.

Kurt Sutter, Katey Sagal to star in FX's The Bastard Executioner

Kurt Sutter created FX’s upcoming The Bastard Executioner—and he’ll also produce and star in the pilot.

FX annouced the pilot’s cast today in a list that also includes Sons of Anarchy’s Katey Sagal, True Blood’s Stephen Moyer, The Hurt Locker’s Sam Spruell, and newcomers Lee Jones and Flora Spencer-Longhurst. Darren Evans, Danny Sapani, Timothy V. Murphy, Sarah White, Sarah Sweeny, and Matthew Rhys are also set to appear.
