The Magicians‘ land of Fillory is filled with all manner of fantastical creatures, and fans have already glimpsed a new one coming in season 2: Armed with a bow and arrow, Quentin (Jason Ralph) and Penny (Arjun Gupta) encounter a white half-human, half-doe in the woods.
Fillory is the new Narnia in the latest trailer for The Magicians season 2: both worlds are filled with magic, fantastical beasts (including a satyr-like faun), and a group of kids from another realm conquering them as kings and queens.
Welcome to Fillory, a land of medieval thrones, knights, and not-so-whimsical fantastic beasts. The setting will play host to Quentin and the gang when The Magicians second season premieres in January, and fans can take an early tour of the locale in a new behind-the-scenes video that features clips from the upcoming episodes.
Ready to head back to Fillory? The Magicians season 2 will debut on Syfy next year, but fans can already watch the very first scene from the premiere.
From a visual standpoint, it’s not as easy as it looks to cast a spell in the world of Syfy’s The Magicians. A lot of finger choreography goes into each series of gestures, and the cast dove into the details of the magic behind the scenes of the show’s witches and wizards when they stopped by EW’s lounge at San Diego Comic-Con.
“I’m probably the least talented at [tutting],” Summer Bishil (Margo) admitted. “[Choreographer] Kevin [Li]’s always like, ‘Summer, do it again.’”
San Diego Comic-Con has become one of the biggest pop culture events of the year, and SyFy and USA Network are both doing their part this year, with panels set up for their most popular shows and previews of upcoming new ones.
USA announced Thursday that their panel lineup for July 21 will include moderated discussions with the cast and crew of Mr. Robot (moderated by @midnight host Chris Hardwick), Colony (moderated by Retta), and the upcoming Falling Water (complete with a world premiere screening of the pilot).
If The Magicians wasn’t already renewed for season 2, fans might think almost everyone was dead.
We’re all the protagonists of our own lives, but what happens when we learn we’re not the protagonists of the stories to which our lives are tied?
That’s the hard truth that Quentin Coldwater faces in the season 1 finale of The Magicians, which, while adhering to many of the details of the source material’s showdown with the Beast, takes a wild left turn that could completely alter the trajectory of the characters as they head into season 2.
Quentin Coldwater is about to meet the man behind his favorite book series — or at least, he’ll meet his ghost.
While the faculty is away, the older students at Brakebills will play… with the first-years like their own personal monkeys. But there’s more to Eliot, Margo, and the rest of their class putting the Brakebills freshman class through The Trials during “Impractical Applications.” The future of these students and their magical schooling is at risk.
Fail the Trials and be wiped from the student body. Complete them all, and you transfigure into a goose. Really it seems like a lose-lose situation.
