Neil Diamond announces 50th anniversary tour

Neil Diamond will celebrate his 50 years in the music industry with a massive world tour, hitting cities in North America, Europe, and the U.K. beginning in April.

The arena tour, called “The 50 Year Anniversary World Tour,” will kick off April 7 in Fresno, California, before heading to major cities like Nashville, Toronto, Seattle, Vancouver, Philadelphia, and Chicago. Diamond will play two nights at New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden, and close out the North American run with two nights at Los Angeles’ The Forum. European and U.K. dates have ye to be announced.

Neil Diamond records charity song for Boston

Neil Diamond visited Boston in the days following the marathon bombings and left convinced he should do something to help.

“I was moved by the unity and the attitude of the people in Boston,” Diamond said. “And that’s really all a songwriter needs, is to be inspired. It doesn’t happen very often but when it does you have to follow that muse and I did.”

Neil Diamond weds manager

Crooner Neil Diamond married his manager, Katie McNeil, in a ceremony in Los Angeles on Saturday, People reports. This is the “Sweet Caroline” singer’s third marriage and McNeil’s first. Diamond, 71, announced his engagement to McNeil, 42, to fans on Twitter last September.

He tweeted: “Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you’re the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well. Neil.”
