Hulu to exclusively stream all seasons of Community, WGN dramas

Greendale’s moving to Hulu. 

The streaming service announced Monday a new licensing agreement with Sony Pictures Television, allowing it to add the sixth and final season of Community to its library to become the exclusive streaming video on demand (SVOD) home to the complete series. (Though Yahoo streamed the comedy’s final season, Hulu content available on Yahoo will only consist of free clips from now on.) Subscribers will be able to stream all episodes of the comedy, about a study group of misfits, beginning Monday.

WGN America renews Outsiders for season 2

WGN America announced Friday that Outsiders has been renewed for season 2.

The original scripted drama follows the Farrells, an off-the-grid Appalachian clan who have resided in their wilderness home for the past 200 years. As the family goes head-to-head with corporations that intend to take over the land, the story explores the relatable push-and-pull struggle between the marginalized and the privileged.

Outsiders: EW review

Take Vikings and half of Top of the Lake, put them in backwoods Appalachia, and you’ve got something close to this gritty off-the-grid drama. At the center are the Farrells, a moonshine-swigging clan who for decades have escaped modern life by building their own little society in the hills. But modern life finds them anyway: Big Coal tries to evict them, throwing the tribe into external and internal chaos.

Paul Giamatti previews gritty, off-the-grid family drama Outsiders — exclusive

Meet the Farrell clan, a rugged family living in the sprawling Appalachian mountains who refuse to give up their wilderness home, in which they’ve survived for 200 years.

In WGN America’s upcoming drama Outsiders, the family comes to a head with corporations who want to take over the land. What ensues is a battle between ideals that make the show — despite its isolated characters — feel relevant today, according to actor Paul Giamatti, who serves as an executive producer for the series alongside Peter Tolan and creator Peter Mattei.
