Paul Feig in talks to direct Mindy Kaling's late-night comedy

Mindy Kaling’s late-night talk show movie is on the verge of finding its director.

Paul Feig (Spy, Ghostbusters) is in serious talks to helm the untitled Fox 2000 comedy starring Kaling and Emma Thompson, his rep confirmed to EW.

The movie is said to be a mix of The Devil Wears Prada and Broadcast News and will follow a veteran late-night talk show host (Thompson) in danger of losing her program shortly after hiring a female writer (Kaling) for the first time.

Ghostbusters director says he won't reboot other classic film franchises

Paul Feig brought Ghosbusters back to the big screen this summer with his female-led reboot, but don’t expect him to give the same treatment to any other classic film franchises anytime soon.
