When you look at Warren Beatty’s resume, you can’t help but notice that there are some long gaps between films. Some of that has to do with the star’s famously deliberate approach to his work. He’s not lazy, he’s just a chronic second-guesser. He can kick ideas around for decades before finally pulling the trigger (like he did with his latest film, Rules Don’t Apply, which opens on Nov. 23). Another reason for those long fallow stretches, though, is due to Beatty’s political activism.

Will Ferrell 'not pursuing' role in Ronald Reagan Alzheimer's film

Despite reports that Will Ferrell was set to star in a film revolving around Ronald Reagan as he suffered from dementia, EW has confirmed the actor will not move forward with the project.

Sources close to Ferrell tell EW the 48-year old had “nothing to sign on to,” and was never formally attached to star in the planned film, as the production hadn’t secured financing, a director or a distributor.

Will Ferrell returning to the Oval Office for comedy Reagan

Will Ferrell is returning to his Presidential roots. The comedian is attached to play Ronald Reagan in Reagan, EW confirmed. His production company, Gary Sanchez, is on board to produce.

Mike Rosolio’s screenplay tracks Reagan at the beginning of his second term. When the President begins to fall into dementia, an ambitious intern is tasked with convincing the commander-in-chief that he is an actor playing the president in a movie.
