Steve Aoki gave Soundgarden's 'Spoonman' an EDM remix

More than two decades after its 1994 release, Soundgarden’s “Spoonman” got a remix courtesy of Steve Aoki. The EDM artist’s take on the song will be used in a T-Mobile commercial set to air during an upcoming broadcast of the Summer Olympics, Billboard reports. Aoki and T-Mobile have previously collaborated in the name of sports: In 2014, he took on “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” ahead of that year’s World Series.

Tribeca Snapchat competition sets Steve Buscemi, DJ Khaled, Jessica Alba as judges

The Tribeca Film Festival and Snapchat have announced the jurors for their upcoming Snapchat short film competition.

Jessica Alba, Steve Aoki, Steve Buscemi, David Gordon Green, DJ Khaled, Shay Mitchell, and Vashtie will judge the first-ever Tribeca Snapchat Shorts competition. The eclectic group of judges, which includes actors like Alba and Buscemi as well as Snapchat gurus like DJ Khaled, will select 10 winning shorts to be shown at the 15th annual Tribeca Film Festival.

Steve Aoki cancels multiple shows for vocal cord surgery

Steve Aoki is going go be on the mend for a while. The 37-year-old electronic musician had to step out from five European shows to have surgery on his vocal cords, he announced with a Facebook video. “The doctor said I had no choice: I have to get surgery, or I will suffer irreparable damage,” he said.
