Steven Tyler on transforming into an 'out of his mind' shaman for Happy Birthday

In the new horror-thriller Happy Birthday, Matt Bush and Riley Litman star as L.A.-dwelling film biz types who take a trip to Mexico and wind up in a boatload of trouble after teaming up with a pair of dubious characters played by Erik Palladino and Matthew Willig. Written and directed by Casey Tebo, the film also stars Britne Oldford and Vanessa Lengies. But in several scenes, the show is effectively stolen by Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

Tourists take ominous travel detour in Happy Birthday exclusive clip

Think the folks in the Hangover movies had a bad time? That attitude may be adjusted by a viewing of comedy-thriller Happy Birthday. Matt Bush (Adventureland) stars as the Los Angeles-dwelling Brady who, after he discovers his girlfriend has been cheating on him, departs to Mexico with his pal Tommy (Riley Litman). There, matters begin to go seriously awry when the pair’s guide (Erik Palladino) convinces them to buy hallucinogens from a local shaman (Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler at his most derangedly Steven Tyler-ish).

Steven Tyler posts Lord of the Rings birthday message for daughter Liv

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler took a page from J.R.R. Tolkien in his birthday message to his daughter Liv Tyler on Twitter Friday.

The rockstar dad referenced Liv Tyler’s turn as the half-elven queen Arwen in Peter Jackson’s big-screen adaptations of Tolkein’s The Lord of the Rings series. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY @LIVTYLER…MY MAGICAL HALF-ELVEN EVENSTAR,” the former American Idol judge wrote. “I LOVE YOU TO THE END OF THE GALAXY AND BACK.”
