Blake Lively is in discussions to star in Sony’s upcoming shark movie In The Deep, with Jaume Collet-Serra directing.

Collet-Serra (Run All Night) replaced Louis Leterrier as the film’s director, with the Black List script written by Anthony Jaswinski. Leterrier exited the project in June due to scheduling conflicts.

In The Deep tells the story of a surfer who is coping with the loss of her mother when she gets stranded on a buoy in an isolated area — with a great white shark blocking her path to shore. According to The Wrap, the project has been described as a mix of 127 Hours and Jaws.

Lively recently joined the cast of Woody Allen’s untitled next film, and according to the Hollywood Reporter, In The Deep may pose a scheduling conflict with the Allen movie.
